Please help!

I have finished this quilt top (do you recogniz it Helena?) and have these large flowers to blanket stitch around. I have never done it using my sewing machine and thought I should give it a try as it would be much faster.

As you can see the machine is not doing a clean job. The stitches from in the petal is coming back up to the edges on an angle rather than straight up. I have followed the sewing machine instructions re stitch length width etc. I am not pulling the fabric as it sews etc.

ANYONE know what I need to do to fix this?

Thank you Claire

Claire - a good friend of mine has nominated me for this award. Thank you very much Claire : o). Claire said very nice things to me about my blog. I am so pleased people are enjoying it - though at the moment it is a bit slow and lack finished projects. I have almost finished all the quilt tops I wanted to get done. I then will need to baste and quilt them.

I am suppose to nominate people for this award - as I have said two post ago I find this very hard to do. Please forgive me?

School holidays, heat and working is the reason for lack of posting here. I am still however quilting along nicely. Also preparing for the children going back to school next week.

Bamboo

My favourite Quilt shop in Hobart is now selling Bamboo Wadding/Batting. It feels beautiful and I cannot wait to quilt my sons lap quilt with it. it is a sustainable product and it feels very nice. Has anyone else used this?

Thank you Simone

SImone kindly gave this award to me. See Simone's blog for the details of this award (she did such a good job). One of the things to do is pass this award on. There is so many awards out there and so many blogs I read - which I think are all worthy of this award so I will not give personal awards out.

I have been very busy stitching up quilt tops of fabric I cut when my machine was out of action a while back. Will show them to you when they are all finished. One of them is Helena's designs. I am not looking forward to putting the layers and quilting them. Might have to call on Jo again for her tireless help and pins (though I did buy myself some more Jo!).

A bit of fun

I have joined in two activities...

First - Ellie's free BOM - it is a Month Quilt. Here is my first month done (already! impressed?). As here in Australia land we have summer in January - my July will be the snowman (make sense?). Just press on the bar to the right if you want to check it out.

I have also joined Helen's Great Summer Holiday Mystery Quilt. I went and bough my fabrics today. Here they are. Will have to go buy some backing fabric elsewhere as they did not have enough and Spotlight was 'temporarily closed!!!
